Water pollution has become a major global concern due to rapid industrialisation, population growth, and climate change. Continuous monitoring of water quality is essential to ensure safe drinking water and to protect aquatic ecosystems. Traditional water testing methods are time-consuming, costly, and require human intervention, making them unsuitable for real-time monitoring. This paper presents a solar-based water quality monitoring system with a UV rays filter, which provides an automated, low-cost, and eco-friendly solution for real-time water quality assessment and purification. The proposed system measures critical parameters such as pH, turbidity, and electrical conductivity using sensors interfaced with a microcontroller. The collected data is transmitted wirelesslythrougha Wi-Fi module for remote monitoring. Solar energy is utilized as the primary power source to ensure uninterrupted operationwithlowpower consumption. Additionally, a UV filtration unit is integrated to disinfect water by eliminating harmful microorganisms. Experimental results demonstrate that the system effectively monitors water quality parameters and provides safe, potable water with minimal human intervention. This system is suitable for applications in rural areas, rivers, reservoirs, and smart water management systems.
